New Player just got gog version - Where is the Cove castle?

Researching the game I found a castle type called the Cove but can't pick it in the menu to start the game with. Is that part of a dlc not included in the gog edition? Or do I have to find the castle in the wild and capture it? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm brand new to the experience.

Wouldnt it be nice if there were animal kingdoms, the Rulers and king would be alphas and instead of houses and castles they would have more nature like things, such as caves for homes and like a cove for the castle. Just a suggestion but i would love for it to be implemented

Day 8 of my first playthrough of this game: Undead Purgatory, Brightstone Cove Tseldora, Iron Keep, Drangleic Castle, Shrine of Amana and the Undead Crypt.

Today's been almost as busy as yesterday. Went through quite a few areas, but am slightly worried that I didn't explore as much as I could have in some of them. Anyway, without further ado, here's my opinion on everything I saw:
  1. Undead Purgatory isn't really an area, I guess, since it only has a boss and the Brotherhood of Blood Covenant. Nothing much to say here.
  2. Executioner's Chariot is, honestly, quite a fun concept and boss overall, and I really enjoyed it after the relative mediocrity of most of the previous bosses. Got cornered by four skeletons and died on my first attempt, but was able to achieve victory on the next. I do have a question, though: I noticed, after the fight was done, that there was a big gaping hole in a part of the arena. Does this mean that, if I'd pulled the lever at the right time, I could have made it fall in and wouldn't have had to fight the horses at all?
  3. Brightstone Cove Tseldora. I genuinely wonder how people with arachnophobia fared here. It's not much to look at, except those weird crystals, but I liked the layout and design of the area. I noticed early on that the spiders were seemingly afraid of my torch, so that made life (and the boss) much easier.
  4. The Duke's Dear Freja. First attempt; not a very challenging fight, although that's probably because I had a torch with me, thus basically nullifying the smaller spiders' presence. I like how there are heads on both sides, and that you can only damage one upto a certain limit before it breaks. Beyond that, nothing much to say....
  5. Except one thing: why on earth is a dragon frozen here? What happened to him? Why is the Great Soul just lying there on the ground? Someone help me out here; I'm baffled.
  6. Iron Keep. Yesterday, I had reached the Ironhearth Hall bonfire. I proceeded onward today. I have to say, some enemy placements here are rather strange. The massive turtle-backed things shouldn't be in extremely narrow corridors. Thankfully, my +10 weapon and a few R2s got me through. From then on, reaching the Old Iron King was a simple matter. I somehow didn't find another bonfire before the King, though, which brings me back to what I said at the start: I fear I didn't really explore as much I should have, because this was quite a long stretch without a bonfire, and would have been quite a pain had I needed to constantly return to the Old Iron King. But I didn't need to worry, though.
  7. Because the Old Iron King was a complete pushover. I swear it takes him about an hour to, from start to finish, raise one of his hands, slam it down, keep it there, and then return to normal. In fact, you could probably say this for each attack, because he is incredibly slow. Another first attempt boss.
  8. With all four primal bonfires rekindled, I went to the Shrine of Winter, and crossed on over to Drangleic Castle. But before I talk about that, there is something I have to address: are the developers really implying that the Bearer of the Curse had to kill all four Lords because....there was a pile of rubble in the way? Are you kidding me? It would have taken me 2-3 seconds to climb over and saved me so much trouble.
  9. Drangleic Castle. First thing I noticed was that it's somehow raining here, even though, a few hundred metres away, near the Shrine of Winter, there's no sign of rain at all. Weird. The entrance to the area took me a while to figure out, and I was genuinely confused when the enemies just seemed to be spawning endlessly. Thankfully, it didn't take too long, and I was soon in. To be completely honest with you all, I only liked this area because of its excellent visuals (and that, too, mainly the exterior). The enemies are numerous, as always, and some of them are just straight up bosses, but repurposed to be enemies. They seem to have taken enemies from all over the game and placed them here: Bell Gargoyle, Desert Pyromancer, Manikins, etc. I did like that mechanic where you need to kill an enemy in the same room as the giant in order to proceed, though.
  10. The Looking Glass Knight. The entire fight is spectacular, visually. But mechanically, it's just another dude in armour, this time with a really shiny shield. Oh, and he can summon an NPC to gank you, too. Fun times. The summon's health is mercifully low, though. Took me two attempts, but was certainly one of the most memorable fights so far.
  11. The Shrine of Amana. I assume this is the place that one or two of you were talking about when you said that Ranged combat will feel almost necessary. This place is really, really annoying. The homing projectiles are annoying, the mages in white robes are annoying, those weird swimming things with really long tongues are annoying. Everything's annoying. By the way, I was curious: there's a bonfire here called Rhoy's Resting Place. Is this the same guy who invaded me just before the Royal Rat Vanguard in the Grave of Saints? How did he end up here?
  12. The Demon of Song. Cool design. A bit surprising to see that this was the creature singing throughout the area, and not the green-robed lady. I like how it's invulnerable for short periods, but you can affect how early the period of invulnerability ends by going near it. Cool concept, but easy nonetheless. First attempt.
  13. The Undead Crypt. I can't see a thing. I genuinely couldn't tell you what part I've reached. The last significant thing I remember before falling into a completely dark area was two of those shield bashers, standing together in a narrow corridor. In the dark pit, I immediately got ganked by 4 of those weird floaty mages that look a bit like the Shadows of Yharnam from Bloodborne. I ended my day there.
  14. One last thing, though. I've been jumpscared twice by a burning....tree, I want to say? But it also has at least one eye, and a voice that I quite like. In fact, I do like this NPC overall, he reminds me of a supportive but strict grandpa. Which makes it even more embarrassing that, for the life of me, I can't remember his name. I'm sure he's introduced himself, but I must have accidentally skipped over that line.
Well, that's all for this post. Hope you have a good day.

Castle Cove Elementary - Beginning

After talking to my therapist for years, she's finally convinced me to put this into words that I can actually reread and manifest physically. I've always been afraid to, to be honest. The process reminds me of my feelings toward the ghost that I thought haunted my room when I was a kid - if I actually mention it out loud, I'll give it power. That would be a fatal mistake. And I've always relied on my decision making skills and what I thought was intelligence to keep me from dying. Maybe I'm crazy. You tell me.
Our story begins in 2015-2016 school year. I was born and raised in a suburb of Dallas, and was generally accustomed to my mostly slow, mostly consistent middle class life. I was never really picked on at school, but it was also difficult to come across close friends. For a good portion of my life, I simply drifted along, allowing the world to shape me in whatever way it felt fit. And for the most part, that way was perfectly fine for me. Until that year.
It started on a hot day, near the beginning of the year. I was sitting in my math class, I can't even remember the subject, when the horror of Castle Cove came knocking. Right to me. Memories are flooding back.
~
A 13 year old Charlie sits at his desk. His math teacher is droning on about something that he understands but cares nothing about. He stares out of the greasy window in his classroom at the grassy field seperating his school, Great Plains Middle School, from his mother's workplace, Castle Cove Elementary. That school always seemed a little eerie to him, in some incalculable way. Eyes coming in and out of focus, slipping barely into the ease of unconsciousness before pulling himself out again for fear of getting in trouble, Charlie sits and strains to care about his surroundings. But then, his eyes focus for just a moment on something.
There are lots of kids playing at the playground across the field. Shrieks and laughter conglomerate into an almost dull tone of levity. Piercing through the average day stands a single figure, unmoving, its arms at its sides, staring directly at Charlie. A kid? No, it's too tall. An adult? No, it's too skinny. Then what exactly? Charlie muses to himself almost unwillingly.
"Charles." The voice cuts through the silent air.
"Yes sir?"
"Please focus on your work."
A sudden weights drops onto Charlie as he realizes that he's taking a quiz, only to be immediately lifted when he realizes he's already finished every question. He's supposed to turn the paper into the front desk, but being the first one to finish makes anyone look bad, so he's waiting for someone else to go first.
"Yes sir."
He picks his pencil up again and begins drawing a tree. Glancing out of his peripherals, he notices that the figure is gone. Probably just some sort of daydream, he thinks.
Until he sees it again. It has moved - it's closer. Just a bit. It's now at the very edge of the playground, arms at its sides, staring out into space. Staring through Charlie. He stops and stares for a moment, a small quivering forming in his hand. Not out of outright fear, but an inkling of uncertainty that is now hardening into a precipitate in his stomach.
He looks at the paper again. The sun is gleaming off of it, causing it to don a slightly yellowish hue and burrow into his eyes. He sits and forces himself to look directly at his assignment, to forget about the stupid dream he keeps scaring himself with. A dream, is all it is.
He looks again. The action is involuntary. The thing is much closer, now standing at the edge of the property to his school. Standing completely still, too still against the warm wind, is the figure. Its hair looks similar to Charlie's, and were it not for a few features, it may be an exact replica of him. But it's too tall, too lanky. Its eyes are just a bit too far apart. It doesn't look natural.
Charlie grips the side of his desk and looks directly down at the paper. A bead of sweat forms on his forehead. He focuses intently at the assignment, pretending not to notice the other students walking up and turning in their papers. He feels his fingers tighten around the cold metal lining the wood top of the desk, and his teeth are gritted.
A shadow falls over the paper, abruptly putting a stop to the sunlight which should be directly lying onto the desk. A shadow in the shape of a head.
Charlie suddenly throws himself out of his chair, eyes closed, and fumbles toward the door. He opens them for just long enough to open it and fly into the hallway. The door shuts. He falls to the ground, clutching his arms, shuddering.
...
"How was your day, honey?" Annie calls out to her son, a bit of the question being sincere.
"It was fine, mom," Charlie says back tiredly.
It looks like she'll say something else for a moment, but she doesn't. He throws his backpack onto a chair in her classroom, and walks back to the doorway.
"Be back by 6."
"Will do."
With that, he departs.
The halls are long and expansive. At least they are to a barely-teenager. Empty and dimmed, they seem like unexplored caves to be charted. Charlie's mind wanders to the incident earlier in the classroom. But it doesn't stay long. It's easy to dismiss certain things when the world is new and abstract. Wanderlust always seems to soothe him anyway, so he explores the halls as he usually does.
Spotting the stick figure on the bathroom, a sensation floats to his awareness - he needs to go. He walks up to the large entryway, but reels back when the lights don't turn on. They're motion activated. He waves his hand in front of him again. Nothing. The oppressive darkness gives him a sense of unease, but he needs to go, and he'll be damned if he's caught by a janitor in the girl's.
So he steps in. Quickly, almost embarrassingly so, he walks to the second stall, which is on the corner of the small room. After finishing his business, he gets up and is about to open the stall door - when he hears footsteps. He stops in his tracks. The steps lead to the stall next to him, open and close the door, and promptly stop. There's no voice to accompany them.
"He must have heard the toilet flushing," Charlie thinks to himself, but for some reason is petrified. He doesn't move from his standing position near the flimsy door.
A second set of steps walks in. This relieves Charlie just a bit. There are multiple people in here now. It's safe.
The steps lead to the stall next to him. Frozen, again, he steps back just a bit, slowly. There's a knock on the stall door.
Silence.
A louder knock, almost banging, starts erupting on the side of the plastic door. Nothing in response.
Silence.
BLAM!
The door crashes in, and Charlie stands horrified as he hears the struggles of two people seemingly fighting. But there are no voices. No grunts, no cries of agony, nothing. Simply sliding and the sound of skin splitting skin.
Crack.
A shard of ceramic slides into the corner stall, where Charlie is. He stands, unmoving, with his back against the wall.
A knocking begins on his door.
He slides himself underneath the wall seperating the stalls. If he can make it out in time, whoever is standing outside won't get him. They'll think he's still there. He'll be gone. Shoving past the broken door, he runs out of the stall and toward the light of the hallway, which seems so much brighter than he's ever seen it before. Slipping but steadying himself as he sprints, he shoves with all his might against a wall and throws himself out into the dim hallway. Dim, yes, but illuminated.
He runs from the bathroom and back to his mom's room, never looking behind him.
~
This is all I can stomach to finish right now. I'll write more as it comes to me, and maybe as I want it to come. For now, I leave you with this question: what exactly do you remember about your childhood?
