This is a comprehensive review on the three pairs of Kobe 5 Protro's that released in August

Batches
There's several batches of Kobe’s but the best is called World Killer batch or 灭世, if your middleman doesn’t recognize “World Killer”. A factory picture of the Kobe’s that World Killer produces is here (This list is not updated at the time of this guide. Since this list, several colorways, such as Kobe 5 Protro Alternate Bruce Lee, Kobe 5 2K Gamer Exclusive, Kobe 5 Zebra Demar Derozan, etc. have been created in the World Killer batch).
There is an unnamed "medium" batch, which is a slight downgrade from the World Killer batch but still decently high quality.
Then there are quite a few low quality batches. These are all small factories, random factories, DHGate type stuff, so it's gonna be impossible to separate and identify every single distinct low quality batch, but there'll be some common characteristics between them all that make them low quality.
These batches hold true for every Kobe 5, not just the Protro's that are the focus of the guide today.
Flaws
-World Killer Batch.
World Killer Batch, which we'll call WKB, has softer uppers material compared to retail. They seem to be made from the same material, is just the reps are broken in/more pliable. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is up to you, for me personally I prefer it, as the retails dig into my toes until they are broken in, and I don't have that problem with reps. However due to the soft uppers, all Kobe 5's have a shape that resemble the Original Kobe's from 2009. This works for OG Kobe 5's in the WKB, such as the OG Bruce Lee, Prelude, Dark Knight, USA, etc. However, retail Kobe 5 Protro's, have a different shape compared to originals. the collar to the snout is very sharp and flat, and doesn't sag like the OG's. A picture example detailing the difference is here.
WKB has authentic carbon fiber, although it is a different texture compared to retail. WKB carbon fiber shank is all smooth, with reflective grey "squares", however the retails will have less-reflective grey squares but they are raised, giving off a bumpy texture. This is shown more in the video, and here. As of now, every Kobe 5 will have the smooth carbon fiber, except the WKB Kobe 5 Protro Demar Derozan PE Zebra colorway, which has the bumpy retail carbon fiber. EDIT December 19, 2020 As of December, the carbon fiber for 5X Champ and Big Stage colorways have been updated. The carbon fiber isn't the exact same as retail, but it has been updated from being completely smooth to have a similar but rougher bumpy texture as retail
WKB has a different tongue. Retail Protro model's may give the illusion of a longer tongue compared to OG colorways, however this is not true. The tongues are the same length however the Protro models are built with an extra cut/flap that allows the tongue to extend and bend farther, making it seem like the tongue is longer. The reps do not have this extra flap for the Protro versions, and instead have the OG tongue without the flap. Example pic is here. In addition, the tongue for reps is softer, and flimsier. In my opinion the reps have more comfortable tongue's since they don't restrict movement like the retails do. The tongues for WKB are the same length as retail. The bottom part of the functional section of the tongue is identical however. WKB sports a honeycomb mesh tongue that does its job ventilating your foot while you wear the shoe.
WKB has authentic cushlon insole for the Protro's, and identical insoles for Og colorways. The cushlon for the Protro WKB reps are actually softer and more comfortable than retail insoles. The cushlon in retails comes very stiff and takes a bit to break in, which at point they will feel near identical to the reps, however the reps do bottom out a bit easier.
WKB cannot get the Kobe sheath logo on the bottom correct. It will often end up looking really wonky and misshapen. Retail will be very clean, thin, and deep, while reps usually have a very thick, shallow one with paint stains around the edges. Example here.
WKB also has the incorrect grip pattern for most colorways. The Protro model has a tighter grip pattern than the OG Kobe 5. The WKB for the most part have the looser, OG Protro grip pattern, however WKB is now starting to update some of their batches to the correct grip pattern. Some colorways with the correct grip pattern include the Kobe 5 Protro Demar Derozan PE Zebra, and some sizes of the Kobe 5 Protro EYBL. An easy way to tell the difference is to look at the inside foot square on the bottom, the correct Protro grip pattern will have an extra dot in the middle, shown here. EDIT December 19, 2020, As of December the grip pattern for the 5X Champ and Big Stage Colorways are confirmed to have been updated to the correct grip pattern. Haven't seen pics for EYBL's and other Protro models yet but I assume they are the same.
WKB has slightly thicker, and softer shoelaces compared to retail, although they have the same lace texture. This doesn't make a difference when they're laced up, as the rep laces will stretch out to the same thickness as retail laces when tightened.
WKB has authentic flywire, but sometimes appears thicker, more flimsy, or barely there compared to retail depending on the colorway. This is most apparent in the last two lace holes, where for WKB reps the flywire is almost invisible, but in hand, you can kind of tell they're there, and for some colorways you can definitely see them. This is shown here.
WKB has very thick, soft, sockliner foam. Retail is stiffer, with more structure. Retail sockliner foam is one big piece, cut into a cylindrical shape, with the sockliner cloth glued down to the foam so that it maintains its shape. WKB reps do not have this at all, and just have a couple pieces of soft foam stuff in there, and the sockliner cloth is not glued to the foam at all. However, the newer batches are showing improvement in the structure of the foam and the sockliner being glued down. This in my opinion makes the shoe actually more comfortable, as the foam in the reps is softer.
WKB has the incorrect heel shape, as retails are made to have a "V" shape at the heel by the opening of the foot. The reps just have a natural oval shape. This is also apparent if you look at the shoe from the back heel, as the retails will look thinner from that angle due to the heel being compressed, while the reps will look fat. This is shown here.
Many of the WKB will come with a white ziptag, and "MAX" trinket, as well as an XDR tag like this. Not all, but a lot of them will. I do not believe the other batches do (I could be wrong, I buy almost exclusively WKB these days so...)
All batches, including WKB have a box that is the same width as retail, but about 1-2 cm shorter in length.

-"Middle" batch
Middle batch is lower in quality than World Killer Batch, but is still much better than the low quality batches.
Middle batch has pretty similar uppers to retail, it's very stiff, almost stiffer than retail, and therefore they can hold the flat, Protro shape that retail can. However, on the other hand, even the OG colorways will have the flat Protro shape.
The flywire on the Middle batch is on steroids. Idk how else to explain it other than it looks like it benches 500 and squats 1000. Here's a pic. Nothing else needs to be said.
Middle batch, like WKB has the incorrect tread pattern on all their colorways, and has very sloppy, thick Kobe sheath logos.
Middle batch has authentic carbon fiber, although like WKB it is the wrong texture as retail. Middle batch has a very rough texture to the fiber, as if it wasn't sanded smooth during production. Also many pairs will have heavy scratching on the carbon fiber like it was mauled by a cat. Although middle batch carbon fiber isn't smooth, it's still different than the bumpy texture of retail.
Middle batch has a very similar insole feel to retail. The cushlon insole come very stiff and takes wearing time to break in, at which point it becomes much softer. I believe the Middle batch produces all it's Kobe 5's in the Protro structure, regardless of whether the colorway is Protro or OG. For example, my Kobe 5 USA's are middle batch, and an OG colorway. However, they arrived with a black Protro box, with a inside shoe tag that said "manufacture" date was in 2019, not 2009, and came with a Protro cushlon insole.
Middle batches have the same tongue flaws as WKB, however, the middle batches tongue is also about one lace hole short. Retail tongue should extend up a bit past the last lace hole, but middle batch pairs have tongue that come up to around the second to last lace hole.
Middle batches surprisingly have a decent sockliner and foam. The foam is a one piece, like retail, although it is much thinner. The sockliner is somewhat glued down to the foam to create some structure, and the heel does have a decent "V" shape, like retail. However, you can still feel a difference between rep and retail due to the massive difference in thickness. I would still prefer the sockliner and heel structure of WKB to Middle batch, even though middle batch technically is more accurate.
Middle batch has nearly identical shoelaces to retail, although some pairs have laces that are too long
Middle batches will have a very tall heel. they have an authentic plastic heel cup just like retail and WKB, but the heel will extend about an extra cm more than it should past the heel cup in middle batches. This make the shoe taller than it should be and throws off the shape. To compare, see if your pair's heel is taller than the high point of the ankle collar, if it is, then it is middle batch.
Swoosh shape for WKB is ever so slightly off. The Protro retail's have a more curvy tipped swoosh, and the WKB has a sharper flat tipped swoosh. Impossible to tell unless side by side.

-Low Quality Batch
There's too many low quality batches to count, from small and unknown factories, and many of these are DHGate batches, so we'll just look at some common characteristics.
Super short, wonky, tongue. Many budget batches will have a super short tongue that only goes up to the third to last lace, and they're super thick, or shaped weird. Examples. The tongue's are incredibly thick and don't look like they belong on a basketball shoe. Also the Kobe logo will be HUGE.
Many budget batches have fake carbon fiber. If it looks like plastic, it's fake. Here's what fake carbon fiber looks like.
Some will have almost non-existent carbon fiber, some actually have closest to retail.
Most will have super tall heels, do the same test as middle batch where you see if the heel is taller than the high point of the ankle collar.
Some will have the incorrect honeycomb mesh net on the tongue. Some budget batches will have no honeycomb, just the mesh.
Many low quality batches will have little to none ankle cushioning.
Many low quality batches will have a box label that say "Kobe V Proyro"

Using this guide, you should be able to accurately separate World Killer batch, the premium batch, to middle batch, to budget batches.

Colorways
Here I'll cover specific flaws that aren't structure/general batch flaws to each of the 3 Protro colorways focused on here. These are only flaws specific to each colorway. The video will be very helpful to watch along this review.
Kobe 5 Protro Big Stage Parade
Graffiti for the WKB is way too sloppy. It's like comparing HD 1080P to 144P. A lot of the graffiti specs aren't there, the graffiti is thinnenot as shiny, and just looks shittier, although it's hard to notice unless pointed out.
Sockliner color, the black sockliner(left pair) is slightly lighter than the shade of black on retail. Conversely, the right pair with white sockliner is a bit more off-white than retail.
The "2" and "4" on the insoles are black on the WKB reps, they are white in retail. EDIT As of December, the WKB Big Stage has been updated to have the correct color "24" on the insoles
The heel cap color for WKB is a shade too dark of a gold compared to retail, while the non cap-covered portion of the heel is too light compared to retail. The difference is so small you won't notice unless rep and retail are side by side.
The black midsole portion of the WKB is shiny, glossy black. Retail midsole is a flat, matte black.
The leather for the tongue's is slightly more tumbled and thicker than WKB.
The forefoot panels on retail is a different shade of gold compared to WKB.
Rep boxes will only say "Kobe V Protro", retail should say "Kobe V Protro 1/2". WKB will have the colorway label of "White/Metallic Gold-MTLC SMMT WHT", Middle batch will simply say "Black Blue", Budget batches may say "Black month"
Middle batch has white laces for both pairs, although retail right pair should have black laces.
Midde batch tongue's do not have the reflective panels.
On some budget batches(such as the one in my video), the tongues do not have the reflective panels that retails do. In addition the swoosh and heel are a sun-gold rather than metallic gold. The heel may also have the wrong texture(see video). The incorrect heel pattern and color of the budget batch is also shared on the middle batch of these.
*Note- Surprisingly in terms of looks, one specific budget batch is more accurate than WKB. The graffiti more detailed than WKB, and the flywire is the same thickness as retail, although it does have fake carbon fiber. it also has the reflective panel on the tongues. This is a budget batch that AmyHu sells, and it's only better in terms of LOOKS.

Kobe 5 Protro 5X Champ "Lakers"
This colorway is down pat for WKB and Middle batch. The only major flaw is that most batches don't get the outsole color correct. depending on the batch, the outsole color will be white to slightly icy blue. Retail is almost icy baby blue. However, mostly, there are only batch flaws, no colorway flaws. No surprise here, it's a really simple and basic colorway.
Some budget batches have banana yellow lining, rather than gold.
No batch has a correct box colorway. Retail is "Court Purple/Black". WKB will say "Black/Del Sol-Varsity Purple". Middle batch will say "Purple"

Kobe 5 Protro EYBL
WKB has the same reflective panels as retail, however the grey part of the uppers is a bit too light compared to retail.
WKB midsole is a shade too light of a green.
Shoelaces are very similar to retail for WKB.
Box label has incorrect font.
WKB box says "FiMulti-Color", retail should say "Forest Green/Forest Green"

Performance
This is the big question. Can these shoes perform. Do not take anything I say in this section as absolute fact. Everything I say here will strictly be my experience, and opinion. If you get hurt playing in reps I'm not liable.
Given that World Killer batch and middle batch largely have the authentic tech compared to retail (cushlon insole, phylon midsole, durable rubber outsole, outrigger on outsole, authentic carbon fiber, flywire, ankle cushioning, plastic heel cap to keep your foot locked down, honeycomb mesh tongue for air flow, etc.) Performance wise in my experience so far they hold up compared to retail. On foot WKB feels a little more comfortable compared to retail due to the softer materials.
WKB and Middle batch do use zoom air, just like retails. For OG colorways, you can see the shape of the zoom air bag in the heel if you remove the insole. For the WKB Protro's, you can clearly see the zoom bag in the forefoot in the mold of the outsole before the shoe is put together here and here

So considering that WKB, Middle batch, and retail basically have the same tech, what do I think of their performance? I think they perform the same. I don't really feel a difference in performance other than softness of the material for WKB at all when playing in either, which is pretty sweet cause the reps are a million times cheaper than retail. This is not me saying it's safe to play in reps, or that I recommend it. Take this information and use it how you want, but I will say that I've(and some of my buddies) had no problems playing pickup in rep Kobe 5's over quarantine. Over the course March 2020 to now (Nov 2020), zero pairs of my rep Kobe 5's have torn or shown any cracks at all in the durability of the shoe. I am pleasantly surprised.
I do not know if they would stay as durable on an indoor court, over the course of a competitive season, if one were to get a pair for organized play, however I will say that strictly IN MY OPINION, the reps are safe for pickup and shooting around. Also note that with the lack of inspection in rep factories, it's also entirely possible you might be the unlucky fellow that gets a defective pair that rips the first time you try to play in these, so again, this is not a recommendation, just my experience and my opinion on the matter. If you choose to follow my footsteps and play in them, do so at your own risk.

Conclusions
This was a very long review, where I pointed out a lot of flaws. Keep in mind most of this is me nitpicking stuff, and a lot of it doesn't even matter, like the sheath logo, which is on the bottom of the shoe, or the insole, which you can't even see when wearing. All in all, I absolutely recommend the World Killer batch if you're going to get a Kobe. It's hands down the most comfortable, most durable, highest quality, and generally most accurate batch out there compared to retail. I'd say you're getting a generous .95:1 with them. They incorporate the same technology as retail, play just as well, and depending on your taste, are actually more comfortable and an improvement on retail. Now is the perfect time to cop especially because lately rep factories have been putting a lot more time into Kobe's. New colorways are popping up faster than they have all year, and old batches are being updated. These flaws mentioned are here as of November of 2020, and may not be there anymore by the time you are reading this.
I also recommend middle batch, it is still a solid batch although a definite drop in both aesthetic accuracy and comfort, although it does resemble retail more than WKB in some areas, like uppers stiffness, and ankle cushioning. However, if you can get WKB, get that.
Don't get a budget batch. Just don't, unless you can't pay for the other batches.

Hopefully reading this review will also help you to be able to legit check Kobe's if you are trying to buy a retail pair online, such as eBay or sorts. If you have any questions feel free to tag me and send me pictures to help with a LC.
-Ankle cushioning shape, big indicator is the "V" shape ankle cushioning around the heel, along with very crisp and cylindrical ankle cushioning for retail. Reps don't have the same feel, regardless of batch.
-Lacing. This is not always a guarantee, as you can always relace shoes, but retail will always come out of the box laced under over, and laced to the top. Pairs laced over under are suspect.
-Tongue/Uppers stitching, reps are double stitched at the front of the tongue connecting to uppers, retail is single stitched. This is one of the easiest ways to guarantee rep/retail.
-Tongue should be completely round at the top, reps will usually have some sort of "hitch" whether it's major or minor
-Shape, refer to the batch flaws above. Take with a grain of salt this can be subjective, so don't rely on this as your primary method of LC
-Sole sheath, the outsole sheath on the bottom should be extremely deep and crisp, reps vary in terms of their quality but none of them touch the level of precision of retails.
-Box size, reps are about an inch shorter than retail in length
-Flywire on last two lace holes, if they are completely invisible, high chance it is a rep.
-For Big Stages, the graffiti pattern
*Note, Carbon fibeGrip pattern, previously the easiest way of LCing, is no longer reliable, As of December batches are being updated with increasingly accurate carbon fiber + grip pattern.

*Tip- Sizing for Kobe 5's can be a bit weird. WKB sizing is all of the place. Around September, Size 10's and size 9.5's were both size 9.5, at a 27.5cm insole. size 10.5 fit true to size. I'm not sure if they have fixed that, if you are ordering around that range, it might be wise to get an insole measurement.
Middle batch - In my opinion fits a tad bit loose, because of the thinner ankle cushioning and the thicker toebox from the sturdier uppers. If you are in between sizes, pick the smaller one.
Budget batch - they usually always fit half a size big. The insole is so thin and the ankle cushioning is so thin there's a lot of extra room in the shoe.
Insole measurements for Kobe's - Size 9-27cm, Size 9.5-27.5 cm, Size 10-28cm, Size 10.5-28.5cm, Size 11-29cm, and so on. Every half size is a .5cm increment.
W2C
Finally, W2C. Note, most middle men aren't too familiar with the different batches of Kobe's. It's not their fault, it's just that nobody buys them so people aren't experts on batch naming like they are with Jordan's. That's the whole point of this guide, so you can learn for yourself how to get the correct batch. With the exception of GMK, I would recommend confirming with your seller to get World Killer Batch, or "灭世", which they may understand more easily.

Panda Chen has them on his Yupoo, although they are not all World Killer batch. There is WKB, Middle batch, and Budget batch all mixed in. Not all colorways are available, although he has good prices.
Jin has them on his yupoo, however, he does not ship DHL, only EMS, but he has good prices.
Beyond has a few on his website, but you can ask if he can find another colorway not listed if you contact him.
AmyHu has a yupoo if you contact her, however it is easiest if you just take a screenshot of the pair you want, ask her if she can get a pair of them. She is the most versatile seller on the list, and has found many pairs for me that other sellers didn't have. Good price as well, discounts in bulk.

For World Killer Batch/Middle batch, you should expect to spend about 90-110 shipped(with DHL). Anything above 120 per pair, you're getting fleeced. Budget batches around 50-90 range.

So, I will preface this by saying that I don't go on Reddit much, but do read a lot of stories (mostly in youtube compilations). Also, I don't know anything about QAnon. But in describing... everything that happened with my stepdad, my fiancée told me I should post my story here. So that's what I will do. It's a long one.
So I have a lot of baggage. My parents (mom and stepdad; dad has been out of the picture for a long time now) were emotionally, mentally, and verbally abusive. Never physically, though. To this day, they gaslight and try to manipulate me, and I am sure this has contributed to my lost memories. I have trust and relationship issues now too.
It really started when my stepdad came into the picture. My father was angry, drunk, and did hard drugs. Refused to work or parent, just played Call of Duty and online poker. My mom was miserable, playing the buffer between us and him, worked the shit shift at a shit job to provide for us, and did her best to find time to be a parent to me and my 3 siblings around all that.
Then the divorce happened, and she was a single parent of 4 kids with an addict ex-husband who refused to (and still has not to this day) pay child support. Shortly after she meets my stepfather. He brings us all to his church (which he has since quit for being too liberal and money-hungry). It is all well and fine, for a while. He is really nice, mom is happy, we have a man taking up a fatherly role in our lives for the first time ever. Then things start feeling... off...
He starts making arbitrary rules and disciplining us with his fucked up mind games. I remember one time, to make me and my brother stop bickering, he threatened to make us stay in each others' bedrooms. Sleep in each others' beds. Not be allowed back to our own room. For a few days. Another time, he took my brother's door off the hinges and gave him zero privacy for backtalking him. Dishes HAD to be done by hand, no more using the fully functional dishwasher, for no reason other than he said so. We had to do it in a super specific way he showed us too. One time he sent me and my brother into our rooms for an hour to each come up with a written list on how we would punish ourselves if he ever caught us bickering again, and pray he approved it, because we didn't want to know what HE could come up with.
He had all of us pick out our 3 most favorite things we owned. Then told us that if we ever pissed him off too badly, he would throw away everything we owned besides our beds, clothes, our bible, and those 3 items we picked. He would steal small toys and trinkets we had from us so he could "surprise" us as adults with them unexpectedly. I have gotten a few long-lost beloved toys back already. I once got caught hanging out with a friend at her house one day. College classes let out super early and I wasn't keen on going home to my toxic house, so I hung out at my friend's until the usual time to go home. My cousin had spotted me leaving the college by chance and called my house to make sure I was meant to be out that way (it was a ways away from home, I was with someone he hadn't met, and he didn't know I was in college). When I got home, I was tasked with writing down every lie I had ever told, or else I would lose everything I owned besides my bed, bible, clothes, and 3 favorite belongings.
The stories go on and on, and I don't even remember a lot of them because I have apparently repressed a lot of memories.
We weren't allowed cell phones or videogames. Computer was for school work only and he would monitor all the stuff you did it administratively from his computer. If you were even one second late coming home, heaven help you. Not allowed to buy a car before the day I moved out. He would brag about planning on kicking my younger brother out on his 18th birthday. If you "messed up" and did anything wrong within a week of spending time with a friend, they were a "bad influence" and were never allowed to see them again outside of school. Unless the friend was useful to them, like one friend who gave me rides to and from college (I did a program where I took college classes while in high school).
He believed, and outright stated, that since he was a teenager once upon a time that he knew everything we thought. We made an innocent mistake, like forgot to check to see if any dishes needed to be washed before watching TV? No, we chose to do it intentionally as an act of rebellion just to piss him off. And we were liars if we claimed otherwise. Whenever anything bad happened and it involved us at all, we would get in trouble if we did not accept 100% of the responsibility and blame. Example: if there was an unexpected change in plans and it left us in a tight spot, it was our fault for not planning better. If we ran out of something we needed (for like cooking or school) it was our fault for not letting mom know before her last trip to the store.
He would use his religion as an excuse to rule over the whole family, including my mom, with an iron fist. What he says, goes. I remember one time he started screaming at me for wearing the same shirt to church every week (we were forced to go) and I said it was because it was the only nice dress-shirt-type of shirt I had. Mom defended me and said I didn't have any other "nice" shirts to wear. He called her a bad wife for arguing with him. To him, the man of the house was the leader. The wife and children are meant to be obedient, and obey everything he says without question. In turn, it is man's duty to lead and provide for the family. He, and my mom, believe that mental illness (such as ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc...) are all made up by people who want attention and the only "real" mental disorders are the super bad ones like schizophrenia. Super convenient for a narcissist, right?
My stepdad is not only a narcissist, but also one of those crazy conspiracy theorists. Anti-vaxxer, flat-Earther, the whole 9 yards. We've never been to space or the moon. "They" are spraying chemtrails in the sky all day every day from airplanes. "They" (meaning "the bad guys" which may mean some or all of the following: the USA government, the satan-worshipping illuminati, the sheeple, the World government, the evil ultra-rich bazillionares who sold their souls for their success and run the world... you get the picture). The Catholic church is actually secretly the illuminati and the Pope is their leader. The Coronavirus is just a massive lie made up by Them so they could hard-reset the world economy and train us to follow orders and so They can see how far They can push us before we even notice or take action. The vaccine is evil and poison and may or may not contain a microchip. The "Mark of the beast" in the bible will be a government-issued microchip used to track you and assign you a social score and all that shit. They want to take out guns so we have no way of defending ourselves against Them when They send the military out. All of these conspiracies he gets from a mix of websites. I won't name any, but I know of a few. Because growing up, we were forced to "research" and read "news articles" off these websites daily. He flip-flops between singing Trump's praises and berating him as just another corrupt government official who lied his way into office with false promises to the "woke" people. But I guarantee you that he would applaud the insurrection that happened on the news today.
He started pushing all of his views onto my mom and siblings. With... mixed reception. All of us shrug off some of the really crazy ones, like how all celebrities make deals with demons for their fame. But my mom and 2 of my siblings have started believing a lot of what he says. Now they are also flat-Earther anti-vaxxers who point at clouds and cry "chemtrails!" I just try to avoid politics and any of these crazy theories whenever I spend time with my family. I don't do a lot of talking with them at all, actually. I am either lying and deflecting to keep them from prying too deeply into my life, or sitting quietly while my stepdad goes on a rant.
My stepdad can be really creepy. When I still lived there, I would occasionally sit on his knee (a habit I picked up as a kid, and I would still do it to be "affectionate" and fly under his radar, he loved and encouraged it), but when I got older he would start to rub my thighs, my back really close to my ass, and my sides close to my chest. Made me super uncomfortable so I quit doing that. Never went any beyond that, and I am not sure it was even intentional. I ask my sister (who still lives with him and my mom) every time I see her if he has ever done anything inappropriate or made her uncomfortable, and she says he hasn't. Also he has this weird obsession with my, my sister's, and my mom's feet? Mainly mine though, since they are the softest. That also weirds me out.
They have put me through Hell and back. This all kept up until I moved out at 19, and they tried every tactic under the sun to get me to move back. Mainly my stepdad was the problem, but my mom isn't innocent either. She let this happen. She went along with it. And she became part of the problem when she started supporting the abuse from my stepdad, and believing in his crazy conspiracy theories. Plus, she was homophobic and racist to begin with. Throw in a hefty dose of believing in and pressuring me and my sister into gender stereotyped roles (expects us to be homemaker housewife baby machines) and she adds her own problems into the mix. Also, she straight up ignored me and accused me of lying and saying hateful things out of anger the one time I told her that I hated my stepdad and what he put me through. I told her all this after the incident I described above, where I went to a friend's house instead of home when college let out early. She gaslights and manipulates me too. Mainly to feel small, scared, and like I need to run to them for advice and help. She wants me back under her thumb. She wants me to move away from my current house, because I am living with a roomate she hates (a "bad influence" friend and one whose house she is not welcome at).
Despite all of that, I don't cut contact with my family. I don't even argue with them. I spot manipulation when I can and acknowledge it internally. I don't call them out on it. I don't challenge or argue about politics, or these conspiracy theories, or their racism or homophobia. I don't rock the boat. Because at the end of the day, I still love my mom and siblings. Despite all their flaws. I would be devastated if they were no longer in my life. But it chips away at me, every minute I spend with them. Every homophobic comment I have to just swallow, because I know I could never tell them I am a lesbian and am engaged to a woman. It kills me to have to hide her away, like a dirty secret, and I know it hurts her too. But I don't know what to do from here. I feel awful not challenging my family, but I feel it is a lost cause. I could never change their minds, only lose them from my life. I know it is inevitable anyways, but I still don't cut my family out. Partly because the fallout would be NUCLEAR, and partly because I want to put it off as long as possible so I still have them in my life.

GoFundMe asked me to tell my story, but this isn't my story. It's the story of millions of lost Americans who are suffering. I can't do much, but at least I have what I think is a good idea. It doesn't offend people with freebe handouts. It would only need help to begin but after that it would be entirely self supporting and could entirely end homelessness in America. A place to go where they can work to become unhomeless with just a little outside help. This idea could be the best thing ever. It sounds crazy, I know, but how could it not work. Here it is, EVERYONE, just ask for my notes and I'll be happy to share. You can do with it what they like and add your own ideas and notes. Just please don't steal the idea for personal profit.
The Venue Resort in the beautiful valleys of Arizona where there is nearly year round sunshine to plan all your special and important life's events, weddings, birthday's anniversaries, family get together in a place the homeless have started new lives and careers. The Venue Resort would be the benefactor of the homeless, held by a carefully selected group of trustees who would agree to only be paid a reasonable salary to oversee the Venue Resort and Camp Begin Again.
The Camp Begin Again would legally be a camp with powered spaces for tents, RVs, trailers, or even just their sleeping bag if that's all they got. Then help them to build a shelter that can protect them, keep them warm, and where they can rest their heads. A clinic medical and psychiatric help, a substance abuse treatment center, a college extension center, a schoolhouse, and so much more that would prevent homelessness, get the mentally ill the help they need, give the people the help they need to survive with decency. ' And the camp will always be there to catch them if they fall and help them get back up again. It would help them get a home and become citizens again, rather than what we have made them.

1) Incorporation of Organization as a non-profit with all proceeds going into this project and profits held for the benefit of the homeless in supporting camp first, transition to home second. Profits over a certain amount reserve amount will be turned into grants to help homeless people buy homes.
Transition involves, HUD, Habitat for Humanity, and other housing organizations to help physically and financially.
Goal is to end homelessness in America and to have a safe place for people to lay their heads when they have no other home. When done (homelessness ended) transitions to habitat for humanity, when done, transitions to some other form of charity.

I am not sure if this is the right subreddit for this but I really wanted to ask and see if there was anyone else struggling with the same issue selling their stuff too or if anyone would like to help me.
A little about me, I am based in the US and lately decided to try to create an ecommerce brand that would sell items from both my parents countries (my dad is from Turkey and my mom is from Peru) within USA, Canada, and Mexico. From Peru, I want to sell Pima cotton items , Alpaca, and chocolates and maybe eventually other items such as silver jewelry (since Peru is very popular for silver jewelry as well). Then from Turkey, I wanted to sell the peshtemal towels and robes, silk, and rose and bittim items. Eventually, I would expand to other items also like teas and coffees. I wanted to do this to try to expose people to the cultures of both countries and have people purchase things that might want or those who have immigrated there to enjoy the stuff they could not find for affordable price. Also another reason because everything in the US is mostly made in China and I was just sick of it and wanted to bring more awareness of these two countries. So I found my self some suppliers and managed to get my items from one of them in Denizli by using Google. I already have the peshtemal towels and robes and silk shawls. Then my dad already has his physical store in Istanbul selling baby and children clothes in Istanbul all from made in Bursa. I told both my parents and they decided it was good idea and my dad decided to get rose products from Isparta since one of his employees had told them they have relatives there that could help. So we ended up getting rose products and some other beauty products from this one company there. My mom and I wanted to get products from Peru but decided it would be best we go there and get the stuff in person since they were way too expensive for some of the items I wanted and my uncle there told us there were cheaper places there that produced the same items for less prices and also many foreign fashion companies go there to create their items as well. So because of the pandemic, we were not able to go and were hoping we can go eventually so for now I was able to get items from Turkey since my dad was going at the time for his business. My dad's store has not been doing great and he decided to sell most of his items online but he has not gotten many customers. Then I had a website created but it is not currently functioning so now I have to get it fixed. In the meantime, we have been selling our items in different platforms. My dad managed to get three buyers for some of the items and I have people like my items but no one is buying anything from my brand.
I don't know it's because I see that way too many people are selling the peshtemal items online from American people to Turkish people in the US and Turkey too especially on Etsy so that's why people are not really buying my stuff and people don't maybe like silk or rose products as I thought they would. I am thinking maybe it's just the economy as well which is why my dad had not been able to make much business in Turkey too. I am curious if anyone else having the same problem selling stuff imported from Turkey to other countries or is it just me?

Assets and Debt:
Retirement Balance: $17,0923.26. This is a mix of a Roth IRA ($11,009.33) which is partly from inheritance I received from an uncle and partly from my own contributions. The other $4,605 is from a job many years ago and then my current retirement contributions which I just started up in June which are the rest (~2,300). This retirement account is especially low as I lived outside of the country for 5 years and was not contributing at all.

**Savings account balance: ~**$12,200. This is a mix of saving from birthday money, 10% of my weekly paycheck and my side hustles. Additionally, my mother received some inheritance money from her uncle which she split among my 3 siblings and I. I have about $3K left over that is invested which is part of my savings.
Checking account balance: ~$1,698. All my paychecks end up here and I transfer my money from there to different accounts. This is much higher as it’s my rent paycheck which doesn’t come out until next month.
Credit card debt (and how you accumulated it): $0. I pay off my cards monthly.
Student loan debt (for what degree): $0. A mix of scholarship and my parents paid for my undergraduate degree (of which I am forever grateful). I paid for my Master’s degree and living expenses with the rest of the inheritance and my parents paid for half of my Masters (Again, so thankful, and aware of what a privilege this is.) I cannot recommend going abroad enough for a Master’s as it is so much cheaper, even with living costs (I was living in London).
Section Two: Income
Income Progression: I’ve been working in education policy for almost 2 years now. My income progression throughout my career has been a bit wonky. I started out in fundraising making $45K a year after I graduated college (spent that year after college as an au pair in Switzerland). I got sick of fundraising and moved to asia to teach English for 3.5 years making the equivalent of $16-17K/year which was more than enough to live on and travel. After 3.5 years there I went back to grad school for education and international development in London. I then moved back to NYC in January of last year and started my current job as a contractor first making $30/hour (see last year’s post around this time here) and then became a full-time employee in November making what I make now. I’m looking to move up but we are in a hiring freeze and the job market is not great with what I want to really do, so here I stay!
Main Job Monthly Take Home: This works out to about $2856/month after taxes, retirement contribution and union dues. Healthcare is free.
Side Gig Monthly Take Home: I have 2 side gigs, babysitting and trivia hosting. Both are currently on hold due to COVID. As my sister is one of my babysitting families it might pick up a bit this fall but mostly this will stay around zero until I am able to start up again as no one is going out!
Section Three: Expenses
Rent: $1,297/month for one bedroom in a 4 bedroom house. I love my apartment dearly as it is so close to everything even though I can’t really take advantage these days.
Retirement contribution: $578/month pre tax goes into TDA plan and pension account as I work for the government. I don’t want to work here forever but just in case I do, I’m paying in.
Savings contribution: Normally it is 10% of my paycheck. This has varied wildly because of COVID. I lived with my parents for a few of the summer months and was able to save quite a bit, so now that I’m back living by myself we shall see where this ends up! As my side gigs are not on, I’m not really sure how much I will save.
Investment contribution: I just started investing again- $1000 last week- but this is pretty ad hoc.
Debt payments: $0
Donations: currently: $10 a month each to BLM, NY Foundling, The Innocence Project, and BRAC USA and ad hoc donations to friends’ fundraisers.
Electric/gas: This varies from month to month but usually about $30

Gym membership: $78/month just started back up- unsure if I will continue as I really only used the pool and it’s not open yet.
Physical Therapist: $900/10 sessions so about every 2 months or so. I had back surgery last year after a severely herniated disc which caused foot drop. I was walking pretty normally however when I got COVID I was in bed for a month causing some regression. Because of that I’m back in PT to see if I can get it back to where it was. I was able to start running again which is amazing and something I never thought I would be able to do, but want to make sure I’m doing it right so PT it is! To keep my foot in shape I try to take daily walks of at least 3 miles as it helps my back and my foot immensely when I do.
Caveat: For this diary, I don’t say that I wear my mask, but every time I go outside, I am wearing my mask and wash my hands when I get home as well as use hand sanitizer. NYC is pretty open right now and I’m happy to do things outside! I’m trying to limit going inside stores/subway.
Day 1 (Monday): $0
8AM: After snoozing the alarm a few times, I check emails/Instagram/texts that came in overnight. I take a shower, and get ready before heading downstairs for breakfast.
8:45AM: I make scrambled eggs, mango, and coffee for breakfast before pulling out my laptop to start work at 9AM.
1:45PM I take a lunch break after a morning full of calls and meetings. I make a turkey and cheese sandwich with carrots, a pickle, a peach, and a few turbinado sugar and salted almonds from TJs. I get interrupted with a work call but add an extra few minutes to my lunch break and make a phone call to my landlord to re-sign my lease and bring up the issue of our broken microwave. She’s not too pleased but I tried to fix it there just wasn’t anything else we could do.
5:10PM I wrap up work for the day and head out for a walk while listening to an audiobook (Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng). When I get back I drop my stuff upstairs and head down to sign my lease for my landlord who lives on the floor below us. She tells me she’s ordered a new microwave and completely trusts that we tried everything.
7:15PM I make a dinner of leftover chicken, cauliflower gnocchi, broccoli, and spinach (one-pot dinner for the win!). I have a peanut butter ice cream mochi for dessert and chat with the roommates for a bit.
8:15PM I head up to my bedroom and watch the first few episodes of The Sopranos. I’ve never seen it but my sister-in-law keeps telling me to watch it and as I’m very uninspired by any tv recently (Taking any and all recommendations!), I decide to give it a try.
10PM early lights out as I have to be up early for PT tomorrow.
Day 2 (Monday): $27.39
6:30AM: alarm goes off and I can’t snooze today. I get up, brush my teeth, wash my face, and put on some workout clothes.
6:45AM: I’m out the door for the 3 mile walk to the PT.
8:45AM: PT is done and I walk back home. Once home I log on for work and make breakfast of eggs, strawberries, and coffee.
1PM: I take a break for lunch and head to the post office to mail 2 birthday cards ($2.40). When I get back I make the same lunch as yesterday and order a yoga mat on Amazon that I’ve been needing for awhile so I can do at home workouts again ($27.39)!
5PM: Finish off work for the day and look around the interwebs for new books to add to my library hold list. I throw in a load of laundry and hang up some of the art that’s been sitting on my floor for months. A little uneven but it will work for now!
**7:20PM:**I make a quick dinner of a bean and cheese quesadilla with some kale on the side and a peanut butter mochi for dessert. My roommates and I chat about the state of the world and what’s to come.
9PM: I bounce upstairs for bed and while scrolling through the interwebs finally pull the trigger on Book of the Month Club. I used to get Ipsy monthly but I’m not really wearing makeup right now and so have canceled it but I do love to receive mail! I am usually a voracious reader, but since the pandemic I have been unable to focus. I’m hoping that this will motivate me ($10.88).
11PM: After watching a few episodes of Love on the Spectrum, I get ready for bed and it’s lights out!
Day 3 (Wednesday):$0
8AM: Wake up, check texts/social/news and roll out of bed to take a shower, and put on some clothes. I head downstairs and get together my usual breakfast.
9AM: Log on to work and sort through emails before a bunch of meetings and calls start.
1PM: I pull together lunch while I’m in a meeting of soup, bread, a peach and chocolate covered almonds (these almonds are one of my many vices to get through the day).
2:30PM: Take a quick break before my next meeting and do some NYT Crossword.
**5PM:**Work finished! I need a break from the screens so I put on my headphones and take my walk after putting some chicken in a marinade.
7:30PM: I get back from my walk (5 miles!) and make a salad for dinner with green beans, chicken, tomatoes, and shredded cheese with balsamic and a tortilla on the side. I chit chat with the roommates for a bit before wrapping up the leftovers and cleaning up the kitchen.
9:30 PM: I head up to get ready for bed and watch an episode of Dirty Money (Apparently I can’t watch the same show two days in a row).
10:30PM: Lights out!
Day 4 (Thursday):($19.54)
8AM: Wake up and have the same routine. I get a breakfast together of eggs, strawberries and coffee.
9AM: Log on for the day and start a full day of meetings and phone calls.
1:30PM After a very busy morning with the phone glued to my ear (first day of school changes!) I take a quick break for soup, bread, and a peach before hopping back in for more phone calls for the day.
5PM: Work day over! I log onto the Brooklyn Botanical Garden website and reserve 2 tickets for this weekend for me and a friend and she Venmos me her half I then head out on a walk (another 5 miles) to clear my head from the day. ($19.54)
7:30PM I make a weird dinner of kale, leftover refried beans, and TJs Butternut squash mac and cheese (first time trying and meh). I have a couple of mint milanos for dessert and talk with the roommates about the day.
9PM: I head up to my room and do some stretching for my foot and clean up a little before settling down with some Dirty Money episodes.
11PM: lights out!
Day 5 (Friday): $70
6:45AM: Alarm goes off for PT but I just cannot get out of bed. I snooze for 15 minutes and then take a quick body shower and decide it’s too late to walk so take the subway for the first time since March. I have to reload my metrocard ($20) for the first time and the whole thing feels very weird. The subway at least feels clean and there are very few people on it.
7:30AM I overestimated how long in between subways and arrive SUPER early to PT. I walk around the blocks for 15 minutes before heading in.
8:30AM: PT done! My foot is super sore as we are working on range of motion and strengthening of my ankle and it hurts so good. I get back on the subway to get home before my meeting. On the way back I grab a starbucks iced coffee and have to reload my card ($25). After all it’s FRIDAY! And I’m all about the pandemic “treat yo self” trend.
1:30PM: I take the quickest break I can as I have been pulled onto 3 different calling projects today and have a list a mile long of programs I need to get in touch with about various things for opening. I have leftover mac and cheese with chicken and green beans which I shovel in before making more calls.
6:30PM Work is finally over. My brain hurts from all of the phone calls. While some programs were very nice, others were much more challenging, which I totally understand- the stress of opening a school in the midst of a pandemic is a special kind of stress and frustration. I listen as much as I can, knowing programs mostly just want someone to complain to and try to answer their questions with guidance we have been given but it’s not always taken well (fair, there are still a lot of questions!).
7PM: My sister picks me up and we go pick up pizza before heading back to her house for dinner and a movie. I hang out with my niece for a bit before dinner. In the midst of this we find out RBG has died and the shock, panic and fright of it all sets in. Trying to explain to my niece why this is so sad and so important in words she can understand is hard when we’re trying to process it, but she knows something bad has happened.
8:30PM: We put my niece to bed and I read some stories to her. Mass amounts of texts are coming through my group chats as we try to understand how F***** our country is.
9:30PM: My sister, brother-in-law and I opt for a comedy movie for a lift and end up with Heartburn (Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson). Completely random and I had never seen it, but mildly enjoyable!
11PM: I walk home (someone walks next to me and strikes up a conversation for most of the way, totally random, but I wasn’t sure what to do!). When I get back I get ready for bed and read Reddit for a while and venmo my sister ($25) for the pizza and wine before lights out at 12:30.
Day 6 (Saturday):$202.56
9AM: No alarm! I hang out in bed for a bit before getting up to shower and wash my hair. I get ready and then make breakfast of eggs, bagel with cream cheese, and iced coffee.
10AM: I finish breakfast and clean up the kitchen doing a bit of a deeper clean on the oven and sweep the floors. I check my fridge and freezer stocks.
10:30AM: I head to TJs and buy eggs, milk, iced coffee mix, salad, a sweet potato, ground turkey, mango, peanut butter, a few snacky things, frozen broccoli, cheese, almonds, dried apricots, turkey, cream cheese, flowers, and a few other things I can’t remember ($103.15). I lug it back home to unload before going back out to Target to get Diet Cokes, toothpaste, plastic wrap, and Clorox wipes ($19.41).
12:30PM: Back home I unload everything and take a break to chill before getting ready to go to the Botanical gardens. I chat with my roommate who is headed to Ikea to pick up a bunch of stuff for her room. I ask her to look for a specific bed frame and if she finds it to get it and I will Venmo (she did not find it- shelves were bare of a lot of things!). I’ve been looking for one for months (my current bed is on um wheels) and I’m ready to pull the trigger now but the pandemic seems to disagree.
2PM: I meet up with my friend K for a tour of the botanical garden. After we head to a Mexican place I’ve been wanting to try and proceed to eat our faces off with queso fundido, guac and chips, and tacos of various sorts along with 3 margaritas each. We split the check and the total comes to $80 each including tip. We take our last margarita to go and walk back towards my place to feel less full. It doesn’t work as we are still drinking, but at least we tried!
6PM I wait for my friend to get her uber and then come into the house to crawl into bed and watch Netflix for the rest of the night. Day drinking is the best because you can still sleep early and not feel guilty!
10PM: I play Bumble for a bit while watching Luther and then it’s lights out!
Day 7: $0
9AM: I hang out in bed til 9:30 before taking a shower and making a breakfast of eggs, tortilla and mango with iced coffee. My sister texts that they are ready to go soon to an orchard and a walk so I get dressed and then play the waiting game until they’re ready.
11AM: We stop for coffee and I get a grande Iced coffee but use my Starbucks card. We then stop to pick up Italian subs and sister pays (woot!). We then get on the road to hit up an orchard.
1PM: We found out they weren’t doing apple picking in the orchard but there are a few animals for my niece and some pumpkins and cider donuts. We picnic outside with the donuts and subs and play in the grass for a bit before packing up for a hike. We get donuts, a couple of baby pumpkins, and a bunch of apples, brother-in-law pays which is nice!
3PM: We stop by a local nature park and take a short walk. My niece starts complaining so we wrap up the walk quicker than we want to. On the way home, my sister and brother-in-law stop in Wegmans to get their own groceries so my niece and I wait in the car to avoid further people.
5:30PM: Back home, I walk back to my house and come inside to hang out for a bit and watch TV. I do the NYT crossword for fun (autocorrect on).
7:30PM: I head downstairs and make a turkey and cheese wrap for dinner and marinate some chicken for tomorrow.
9:30PM: I watch Luther a few episodes of Luther and play Bumble before it's lights out at 11!

Reflection: This was a higher spend week for me in terms of food. I haven’t been out to eat/drink in ages and usually just get one takeout a week during pandemic times so this was definitely a splurge. My grocery bill was also higher because I stocked up on some pantry items that had just run out (usually my bill is around $70). I am also trying to treat myself when I want because it helps my mental health!
