After hosting a successful soft opening of the newly renovated, expanded and rebranded Playtime Casino Hanover on March 19, the highly anticipated grand opening celebration on April 11 welcomed VIP guests and the public to the new dining, gaming and entertainment experience in Hanover. Playtime Casino Kenora would cost some CA$21 million to its developer and the casino complex is projected to feature some 6,200 square feet of various offerings. The casino floor itself is going to come with a total of 200 slot machines. As for the Kenora project, it is supposed to cost some CA$21 million and bear the Playtime Casino brand. North Bay Casino * Playtime Casino in Wasaga Beach, Ont. ($29 million). It will include: a 24,830-square-foot facility with a 16,303-square-foot gaming floor, including up to 250 slot machines; a Match Eatery & Public House. Gateway intends to build a proportionate casino in Kenora, investing $21 million in a 19,000sf property to open in January 2020. “ Subject to OLG, and necessary government approvals, we plan to build a new 19,000 square foot Playtime Casino in the Kenora area (Playtime Casino Kenora), with 6,200 square feet of gaming space, including 200 slot machines.” Residents Petition Against New Casino in Kenora A new petition began circulating the city recently, distributed by a number of local churches and an organization known as Making Kenora Home . They’re hoping to get enough signatures over the coming week to present the petition at an upcoming city council meeting on November 12.
